Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand held a consultative meeting with the Thai Community in Erbil

On 29 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Dusit Manapan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and his delegation held a consultative meeting with the Thai community in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of the Republic of Iraq.
H.E. the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand outlined the objectives of visiting the Republic of Iraq and the purpose of meeting with the Thai community. Both sides exchanged information on living and working conditions in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as well as consular services for the Thai community residing in the Republic of Iraq.
Approximately 200 Thais reside and work in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, especially in the sectors of services, healthcare, and manufacturing. The meeting was held during the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs' visit to the Republic of Iraq during 26 - 30 April 2025.
In addition, Mr. Tanit Loipimai, Minister Counsellor (Labour) of the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, held a separate meeting in Baghdad with Mr. Ali Al-Shawi, Director of International Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of the Republic of Iraq. Both sides exchanged views on the Republic of Iraq’s labour maket and labour laws, as well as discussed on ways and means of increasing collaboration between Thailand and Iraq in the labor sector.
