On 9 September 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy, in cooperation with the ASEAN Committee in Amman (ACA), hosted the ASEAN-Jordan Badminton Tournament 2016 at the Al-Hussein Youth City Club. The goal of the tournament was to strengthen ties between the ASEAN diplomatic community and Jordanian people. 60 players making up 30 teams from 6 nations participated in the event.
