On 17 April 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman hosted Songkran activities at the Embassy's premises. The Embassy welcomed approximately 100 guests from the Thai community and Friends of Thailand in Jordan.

At the beginning of the event, Her Excellency

Mrs. Jirapon Jirampaikool, Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan, led the Thai community to observe one-minute silence in remembrance of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand.

Her Excellency the Ambassador reiterated the importance of Songkran Festival, which has been recognized as an intangible cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO since 2023, and expressed her appreciation for all Thai nationals from various professional sectors who participated in the event.

Some of other activity highlights included bathing Buddha statue for auspicious merits, recreational and social activities, as well as Thai costume competition under the theme, “Chud Thai Sai Hai Sanook.”
