On 14 August 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy, together with the ASEAN Embassies in Amman, including Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, held the Celebration of ASEAN Day at the Royal Thai Embassy. His Excellency Dr. Adel Tweissi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan was the Guest of Honour and about 200 people from the diplomatic corps and Jordanian authorities and organizations attended this event. 
The reception started with the ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by remarks from His Excellency Mr. Pornpong Kanittanon, Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan, and the Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Amman (ACA) and His Excellency Dr. Adel Tweissi, and the traditional cake-cutting ceremony. The guests were later invited to try delicious ASEAN food and desserts provided by the ASEAN embassies in Amman.
