23 January 2016 – Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan H.E. Mr. Apichart Phetcharatana inaugurated the Muay Thai (ancient style of martial arts from Thailand) Youth League Competition organized by the Zaqzouq Muay Thai Black Belt Sport Center, Jordan Thai Boxing Federation, and Rusaifa Municipality. The competition was held in celebration of H.M. King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein’s birthday anniversary this 30 January 2016 and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Jordan and Thailand. The competition was separated into four tiers of age limits: 8, 12, 15, and 17 years of age. 200 spectators filled the auditorium. 
Mr. Khalid Zaqzouq from the Zaqzouq Muay Thai Black Belt Sport Center plays a key role in the promotion of Muay Thai in Jordan, and is also considered a good friend of the Royal Thai Embassy.
