H.E. Mr. Supark Prongthura, Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan, presided over the opening session of the 2025 workshop and competition on “Fine Cooking as a Career Opportunity” for Thai students in Jordan. The said event was co-organized during 4 – 5 July 2025 by the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman and the Thai Students’ Association in Jordan. This workshop has been organized for four consecutive years, aimed at providing an opportunity for the Thai students in Jordan to (1) learn and enhance cooking skills in both Jordanian and Thai traditional cuisines from Jordanian professional chefs from the Iraq Al Amir Women Cooperative Society and Al Masa Al Thahabia Bakery, and executive chefs from the Thai Ambassador’s Residence, (2) broadening students’ opportunity for future employment and extra incomes and (3) deepening the ties of friendship and unity among Thai students from various universities in Jordan. A total of 55 Thai students participated in this year’s event.

One of the activity highlights was the cooking competition among 10 student teams. Honorary judges included (1) Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan (2) Mrs. Siriwan Prongthura, spouse of the Thai Ambassador (3) Royal Thai Embassy’s officials and (4) executive chefs from the Thai Ambassador’s Residence.
