เมื่อวันที่ ๒๑ กันยายน ๒๕๕๘ นายนรชิต สิงหเสนี ปลัดกระทรวงต่างประเทศ ได้เป็นประธานงานเปิดตัวแอปพลิเคชัน “Street Food Bangkok” ณ ห้องนราธิป กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ
แอปพลิเคชันมูลนิธิไทยกับกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย และกรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์ร้านอาหารริมทาง หรือ “street food” ที่มีชื่อเสียงในกรุงเทพฯ ต่อกลุ่มเป้าหมายทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรมและการท่องเที่ยวไทย และกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจ โดยในขณะนี้ได้รับความร่วมมือจากร้านอาหารในกรุงเทพฯ กว่า ๑๒๑ ร้าน และมีแผนจะขยายไปยังร้านอาหารริมทางในจังหวัดอื่นๆ เช่น เชียงใหม่ และเชียงราย
ความพิเศษของ “Street Food Bangkok” เป็นแอปพลิเคชัน ที่สามารถเชื่อมต่อกับโทรศัพท์มือถือทั้งระบบ Android และ iOS หรือ Tablet รูปแบบของแอปลิเคชันเน้นความน่าสนใจและค้นหาง่าย โดยระบุพิกัดร้านอาหาร เมนูแนะนำ รวมทั้งประเภทของอาหาร แอปพลิเคชันนี้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อตอบสนองต่อพฤติกรรมของนักท่องเที่ยวยุคใหม่ที่ใช้สื่อออนไลน์ในการค้นหาสถานที่และร้านอาหารแปลกใหม่หรือได้รับความนิยมสูง รวมทั้งเพื่อเป็นช่องทางการเผยแพร่เสน่ห์ของอาหารริมทาง (Street Food) ของไทย ให้แพร่หลายในวงกว้าง
อนึ่ง มูลนิธิไทย เป็นองค์กรอิสระไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี ๒๕๕๐ โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจอันดีต่อประเทศไทยในชุมชนระหว่างประเทศ และส่งเสริมให้ชาวต่างชาติทั้งที่อาศัยในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศมีความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับประเทศไทย เสริมสร้างภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีและมีศักยภาพของประเทศไทยในทุกๆ ด้าน เพื่อให้ประเทศไทยเป็นที่นิยมในหมู่ชาวต่างชาติ โดยร่วมมือ ส่งเสริม และสนับสนุนหน่วยงานจากทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชนอย่างใกล้ชิด เพื่อให้บรรลุวัตถุประสงค์ดังกล่าว

Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs gives the opening remarks at the launch of “Street Food Bangkok” application
On 21 September 2015, Mr. Norachit Sinhaseni, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, gave the opening remarks at the launching ceremony of “Street Food Bangkok” application at Naradhip Auditorium, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thailand Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration created this application to promote the vibrant Thai street food scene to both Thais and foreigners, which would in turn support inbound tourism and help to stimulate the domestic economy. The application currently encompasses more than 121 street food vendors and stalls in Bangkok and will further expand to cover restaurants in other provinces such as Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
The Thailand Foundation is an independent non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2007 with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affair. The fundamental objectives of the Foundation are to promote a better understanding of Thailand in the international community, to reinforce a positive image of Thailand, and to encourage the public and private sectors to cooperate closely with the Foundation in fulfilling the aforementioned objectives.
