Special Tourist Visa (STV)

 

Purpose of Visit: Tourism and long stay in Thailand.

Important Note: This type of visa is effective between 1 October 2020 - 30 September 2021. Those who enter Thailand under this type of visa cannot change visa type to other categories when staying in Thailand. 

Qualification to Apply:

  • Has nationality or has permanent resident in the country that the applicant is applying with,
  • No criminal record or pose security threat to Thailand or country of origin,
  • Not infected with disease as per stipulate by Immigrant Act B.E. 2522 (leprosy, tuberculosis, drug addiction, elephantiasis and third stage of syphilis)

Required Documents:

  1. Passport with validity no less than 12 months and 2 copies
  2. Two (2) signed visa application form with 2 color photos of applicant (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.)
  3. A copy of Jordanian ID card (for Jordanian National) or proof of permanent resident in Jordan or Iraq (for non-Jordanian and non-Iraqi national who has permanent resident in Jordan and Iraq)
  4. Health insurance policy document issued by a Thai insurance company (can see list of Thai insurance company at https://longstay.tgia.org), stating that the applicant is medically insured for the period and with coverage as follows:
       
         i.  Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB, and
         ii. Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 400,000 THB
     
  5. Health insurance policy which covers treatment and medical expenses in relation to COVID 19, with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD, for the entire stay period in Thailand.
  6. Evidence of accommodation in Thailand for the entire stay period after 14 day quarantine* (choose one):
         
          i.   Evidence of full payment for hotel reservation in Thailand for the entire stay period. The evidence of payment must be issued from the Hotel with tax registration number,  OR
          ii.  Evidence of full ownership of the apartment in Thailand (i.e. title deed), OR 
          iii. Evidence of purchase or lease of the apartment in Thailand and has already paid at least 2 installments.
     
  7. Spouse (no age restriction) and children (age not exceeding 20 years old) of the applicant are required to demonstrate the evidence of relationship (such as marriage certificate or birth certificate) and required document no. 1 - 5

Requirements for applications for Iraqi Nationals

Step 1:

  1. Completed application form (please complete all parts as clearly as possible).
  2. One (1) color photos of applicant (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.)
  3. Copy of National ID and valid Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from your intended arrival into the Kingdom) together in 1 A4-sized paper.
  4. Proof of permanent resident status in Jordan.
  5. Health insurance policy document issued by a Thai insurance company (can see list of Thai insurance company at https://longstay.tgia.org), stating that the applicant is medically insured for the period and with coverage as follows:
       
         i.  Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB, and
         ii. Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 400,000 THB
     
  6. Health insurance policy which covers treatment and medical expenses in relation to COVID 19, with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD, for the entire stay period in Thailand.
  7. Evidence of accommodation in Thailand for the entire stay period after 14 day quarantine* (choose one)

Step 2 applicant or agency must confirm approval after Step 1 with Thai Embassy first:

  1. Original Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from your intended arrival into the Kingdom).
  2. 3 Completed application form with renewed proposed date of arrival.
  3. Three (3) color photos of applicant (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.)
  4. Other required document on step 1 with renewed proposed date of arrival (if any)

Visa Application Fee:

     Single Entry: 60 JOD

Visa Validity:

      Visa must be used within 3 months from the date of issuance (but not beyond 30 September 2021).

Period of Stay in Thailand:

      Upon entry to Thailand, the immigration officer pay grant the permit to stay up to 90 days based on the evidence of accommodation in Thailand. The immigration officer may grant the period of stay less than 90 days if the evidence of accommodation is less than 90 days. The stay permit can be extended for 90 days no more than 2 times.
